Swirls of Creativity's Purple Thursday ~ Almost Twins

I haven’t been around for a while and there are good reasons. First we had our birthday bash party this past weekend. All four of our birthdays are so close together that we just decided to have one big party this year. It was a fun time, but with all the prepping for it, I wasn’t online much. Also our laptop which I use mostly is about dead. I’m finally ordering a new computer today. It always takes me forever in deciding what to get and finding the best deal out there. I’ve thought and researched it for a few months. Right now I’m on our old computer which I refer to as “Old Bessie”. Doesn’t that sound like a cow's name? It is an old Gateway computer that we’ve had for over eight years now! So the name seemed appropriate. While it doesn’t overheat and have a power cord that is fraying like our laptop, it freezes up quite often while using any program or the internet. It is so sloooooow when using the internet too. I also like to work in the garden when it is nice outside. I still have lots to do and the summer is slipping away.

But, anyhow for Purple Thursday this week I’m going to send you over to one of my favorite blogs because most of my photos are on the laptop. The blog is called Just Me and My Two Chicks by Stephanie Howell and I just love the matching purple shirts that her beautiful girls are in on this particular post. Stephanie does scrapbooking layouts that I would NOT consider the typical layouts. They are NOT cookie cutter layouts in my opinion and I think that is why I enjoy them so much. She is an inspiration to me! :)

Well, I can't help but think of the tune from that song when I think of my Sigg...

“My Sigg, My Sigg,

Wherever I go, It goes.

My Sigg and Me!”

My Sigg holds one liter (approximately 33 ounces) of refreshing water. This photo shows how big it is compared to Lizard Man, he is six years old.

Last Easter Love Bug was almost a year old...


I had fun changing a few of last years Easter photos with a purple-gray glaze…






It is hard to believe Love Bug will be two in exactly a month! This year I’m sure Love Bug will open each Easter egg up quickly and gobble up the sweets inside compared to last years playing with the eggs and not realizing goodies were inside.

Swirls of Creativity’s Purple Thursday ~ Amish

Although, I live in Iowa, I don’t live in an Amish community. Their simplicity amazes me though. And I’m living much more simple compared to a year ago. However, giving up my camera, the computer, and the internet would be hard for me and they will probably never leave my life…That being said, I decided to play with this photo and I love it more in the color PURPLE.

Swirls of Creativity’s Purple Thursday ~ My Favorite Sweatshirt

This is Lizard Man and I last summer. Our family loves going camping and we went camping in Minnesota for the first time last July. It was a lot of fun!

Here I had to keep warm on a cool morning with my purple sweatshirt of course!


We also love caves! We had to check out a couple while we were there…this is in Mystery Cave . Quite cool in the summer, so I needed to wear my purple sweatshirt in the cave!

Swirls of Creativity's Purple Thursday ~ New Template & Layout

I’m late with my Swirls of Creativity Purple Thursday post today because it has taken me some time to find a blog template that has purple and swirls that I really love! This one I really like! It is more of a lavender color, but I like all shades of purple so I think it works well for me. I still would like to make a few changes, but I figured I should switch from black to some kind of purple sooner than later because of my new goal of hosting a Purple Thursday every Thursday!
