Blue Monday-Merry CHRISTmas!

Ah, Christmas is only three days away!!! We are busy, busy, busy with Christmas preparations. I still have more wrapping and baking to do and Word Geek is on vacation, so we’ve been spending more time as a family lately. But, I am enjoying the preparations for the celebration of Christ’s birthday and keeping the true meaning of CHRISTmas close to my heart.

I love when the sky is blue and so you will probably see more blue sky photos here on Monday with a little something else in the photo/s, including today!

I’m off to go buy some more ink cartridges for my printer…I still would like to print a few more photos for family. Have a great day!

Happy Blue Monday and Merry Christmas to YOU!

Blue Monday-Happy Birthday Melissa!

One of my friends has a birthday today! And it’s not just any ordinary birthday, she’s 30! ;) I thought I would share with you something I made for her that has a touch of blue in it…

I got the info that I used in the poster, from this site here.

I finished it off with an 8 x 10, black picture frame. I think this would be fun to give to someone at almost any age and you could add info you think they would especially enjoy.

And for a card...I borrowed the following photo from a forward my sister sent me to suit my needs. I printed it on some sunshiny yellow paper and put it in an envelope with some bubble gum!

It was passed around at her surprise party over the weekend and I think most everyone got a kick out of it. :)

I didn't have much blue in this post and it is super duper cold and windy here. So I thought I would also add this beautiful morning glory photo I took to warm us up a bit!

Happy Blue Monday!

Blue Monday-Blue…not just for boys!!

I haven’t taken any photos with blue in them lately. So I will backtrack to October when we went on walks more frequently.

On this particular walk we went to the post office where Love Bug was called a boy and for good reason. She was dressed all in blue!

I don’t correct people that I don’t know on the gender of our daughter when they are wrong. Really it doesn’t bother me much. I just figure they may know a baby that is a boy and that is why Love Bug gets called a boy.

Really, even though Love Bug was dressed in blue, it wasn’t like they were boy’s clothes. The jean jacket has a heart on the back. And the super soft pants have a lace pattern on the bottom of them and just happen to match her lace pattered shoes too!!

Blue Monday-Creating Pumpkin Pie in a Blue Pyrex Bowl

You know you bake a good pie when it disappears fast, super fast! That's what happened on Thanksgiving Day. And that was also one of the reasons I didn't get a photo of the finished product.

When I bake pumpkin pie I always make two batches from scratch. It is by far my favorite pie! A little dollop of whip topping on top and it is as good as gold to me, well except you can eat it! ;) So for two pies this year I mixed them in my new, but very vintage, giant, blue Pyrex bowl….love it!

Blue Monday-Blue Sky

I love the blue sky in this photo. This photo is of the top of an old school house. I love this weather vane and weather vanes in general, especially ones with a rooster up on top. After taking this photo I came to love it even more because of the beautiful gradient blue sky.

Blue Monday-Blue Indeed

It has definitely been a blue Monday for me as I am trying to recover from a possible neck sprain. I awoke one morning and was getting up out of bed and moving my daughter out of our bed at the same time and my neck made a cracking sound and so now I’m stuck in bed. Not fun, but I do have my dear hubby’s laptop which has helped a bit in-between resting and boredom. What can you do, you ask. Become my friend! In a way to network My Etsy Shop I started a MySpace Page that just happens to have a blue layout!! I’m usually a purple girl, as some already know, but blue is definitely up there too and I found a beautiful blue layout with swirls! I can’t figure a way out to copy and paste it here, so you will have to go check it out here .

And I couldn't leave without posting a photo of blue of course! This is a photo of an Iowa blue sky in the summer...

Blue Monday-Ghostbusters!

Ok, it is a few days after Halloween now, but I thought it would be pretty fun to post a photo I took at a parade of this beautiful blue Ghostbusters’s car. This is one of my favorite cars in the parades around here!

So sing it!!!

If there's something strange
in your neighborhood
Who ya gonna call?
GHOSTBUSTERS

If there's something weird
and it don't look good
Who ya gonna call?
GHOSTBUSTERS

I ain't afraid of no ghosts
I ain't afraid of no ghosts

If you're seeing things
running through your head
Who can ya call?
GHOSTBUSTERS

An invisible man
sleeping in your bed
Who ya gonna call?
GHOSTBUSTERS

I ain't afraid of no ghosts
I ain't afraid of no ghosts

Who ya gonna call?
GHOSTBUSTERS

If ya all alone
pick up the phone
and call
GHOSTBUSTERS

I ain't afraid of no ghosts
I here it likes the ghost
I ain't afraid of no ghost
Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah

Who ya gonna call?
GHOSTBUSTERS

If you've had a dose of a
freaky ghost baby
Ya better call
GHOSTBUSTERS

Lemme tell ya something
Bustin' makes me feel good!

I ain't afraid of no ghosts
I ain't afraid of no ghosts

Don't get caught alone no no

GHOSTBUSTERS

When it comes through your door
Unless you just want some more
I think you better call
GHOSTBUSTERS

Who ya gonna call?
GHOSTBUSTERS

Who ya gonna call?
GHOSTBUSTERS

I think you better call
GHOSTBUSTERS

Who ya gonna call?
GHOSTBUSTERS

I can't hear you
Who ya gonna call?
GHOSTBUSTERS

Louder
GHOSTBUSTERS

Who ya gonna call?
GHOSTBUSTERS

Who can ya call?
GHOSTBUSTERS

Who ya gonna call?
GHOSTBUSTERS

Blue Monday – Blue Lobster!?

Did you know that blue lobsters exist? I didn’t until last week…They are rare and maybe that is why we haven’t heard a lot about them. According to Wikipedia, "Around one in two million lobsters is blue. A research study conducted by Professor Ronald Christensen at the University of Connecticut discovered that a genetic defect causes a blue lobster to produce an excessive amount of protein. The protein, and a red carotenoid molecule known as astaxanthin, combine to form a blue complex known as crustacyanin, giving the lobster its blue color". The following photo is from Wikipedia as well...

Blue Monday – My Child’s Drawing!

This is a drawing that my son did of our family almost a year ago. Do you like my hair!? It isn’t quite that short in real life…I’m not sure why he picked the blue crayon, and just kept going, but I like it! Oh how I love kid’s drawings!!

I continue to work on My Etsy Shop, slowly, but surely! Here is my first blue EVER in the shop, for none other then Blue Monday!

Happy Blue Monday!

Blue Monday - Blue At the Zoo!

This is the first time I’ve participated in Blue Monday. Sally at SmilingSally came up with Blue Monday! Thanks Sally!

I was going through a few photos I took earlier this year and came upon a zoo trip that we took in April on my birthday. We were going to go to the zoo on our son's 5th birthday, which is also in April, but it was gloomy and rainy. We changed plans at the last minute since a good portion of this zoo is outside. He didn't know the wiser; it was going to be a surprise so he wasn't disappointed. I admit I was a little because we had not been there for quite awhile. I like to go out and do something out of the ordinary on my birthday, so it seemed like the perfect thing to do. It turned out really nice and was a sunny day. April is a pretty good time to go to the zoo around here because it is usually still cool (which I love) and there are not as many people at the zoo. I like going when it is less busy, it is easier to see the animals when you don’t feel like you are being rushed. It is less sticky and hot too which helps keep the stink factor down. There was quite a bit of blue at the zoo. Blue is one of my favorite colors! ;)

Here is a really beautiful, blue, poisonous frog...

Frogs are a favorite too...I have lots of favorites! ;)

A blue fish...

A very beautiful peacock...

Happy Blue Monday!

Have a great week!
